Stay on task and plan for productivity with a "ready-to-resume" plan, a concept researched by Dr. Sophie Leroy, assistant professor in the UW Bothell School of Business.
Dr. Sophie Leroy tells us how to stay on task and get the job done, minimizing interruption and maximizing productivity.
1. Write out where you are in your task and what you need to do upon return- a few words is fine.
2. When you interrupt someone, encourage them to write down what they were doing so they can switch modes effectively and give you their full attention.
3. Create a ready-to-resume plan when you're interrupted, before you head to a meeting, and at the end of the day.
