A new survey conducted by AARP shows an alarming hike in the number of military veterans targeted by scammers. In fact, the survey found that veterans are twice as likely to fall for scams than the general public, and con artists are creating scams geared specifically toward men and women who have served our country.

Doug Shadel, AARP's Washington State Director, and Bob Ferguson, Washington State Attorney General, shared more about these scams, as well as how to protect yourself and loved ones.

AARP joined the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to launch “Operation Protect Veterans.” The organizations are asking veterans and their families to look for suspicious emails, phone calls or traditional mail that target veterans and REPORT IT!
