During the month of November, writers from around the globe join forces for one common mission: to write 50,000 words in 30 days. It's an event called National Novel Writing Month (NaNowriMo), and while it aims to help people work on novels, they can write pretty much anything they want.

Emily Ladd and Jenn Swagert from NaNoWriMo's Greater Seattle group shared more about the event, as well as community events to help encourage and support participants in Western Washington.

The big kick-off event takes place on Halloween (Tuesday, October 31st) from 10:30 pm - 1:00 am at Shoreline Community College Library (16101 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133)
