According to the American Cancer Society, African American men are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer than white men, and twice as likely to die from the disease. Even more alarming is the news that many African American men are being diagnosed with more aggressive forms of prostate cancer.
Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Michael "Wanz" Wansley just learned his prostate cancer is in remission, after undergoing specialized treatment in Seattle.
Michael shared his story, in an effort to urge other African American men to be screened for the disease.
Michael will perform with the Federal Way Symphony at their Holiday Pops concert. There are two performances scheduled:
Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 7:30 pm
Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2;00 pm
