SEATTLE — It's a childhood dream come true! A treehouse in Magnolia can be yours for $109,000, which is a big drop from the original half a million dollar price tag.
"I think it's kinda human nature. We wanna be on top of the world, right? Well this place takes you there!" said treehouse owner, Ronnie Rae.
Ronnie Rae built the place in 2014 with the help of Pete Nelson, legendary treehouse master out of Fall City, Washington.
Below the multi-million dollar magnolia mansions, tucked in the cottonwoods there is a childhood dream.
To get up to the treehouse you have to scramble up the rocks from below, climb the stairs and in you go to a sitting room/camp kitchen, climb up another set of stairs to reveal the second room of two, complete with it's chic chandelier.
"I didn't pick up a book for probably five years, but when I come up here, I'm an avid reader. I burn through'em," said Rae.
The retreat in the trees was featured on Pete's show "Treehouse Masters."
"We've got a sink with the water catchment system. I mean it really is rainwater that goes through it. The city of Seattle wan't as excited as I was about it," said Rae.
Ronnie and his attorney are working through some issues with the city that he says will be resolved soon. Even though, it was never meant to be a place to live.
"It's just a place to come and get away. It's a vacation spot in the middle of the city, really," said Rae.
The antique nautical spotlight is part of the package. As are the 180 degree views. Ronnie says even though it's just a walk
