Style that goes from work to working out

Struggling to keep those fitness resolutions already? Stylist Darcy Camden says fashion is the key.
Stylist Darcy Camden put together four looks to transition from work to working out.

"Have the right clothes, and they can really help you stick to your New Year's resolutions,” said Camden.

Camden picked four outfits from Macy's, one for each of Evening’s hosts, to showcase how an outfit can help resolutions succeed.

Kim’s resolution is to add more steps throughout her day.

“Totally do-able, I think the biggest barrier to this is comfort,” said Camden.

To keep the outfit comfortable, Camden opted for a pant that has the style benefits of jeans, but the comfort of leggings. She paired the INC 5 pocket pant with a leather jacket and scarf for a professional, but trendy look.

“Because we don't want to wear leggings at work,” said Camden. “Leggings are not pants. I never miss an opportunity to say that on camera."

And she even packed a puffer jacket in the purse.

"A really easy thing to carry around in your purse, or keep in your desk,” said Camden, “if it's cold and you still want to walk a couple of blocks to get your coffee, you absolutely can."

Michael wants to bike to work once a week -- and said no bike shorts, please.

Camden found the perfect pants for this goal: the Levi Commuter, which is actually made for biking.

"When you roll up the pant from the leg, you get this reflector stripe that's really awesome for biking,” said Camden.

Darcy also recommended wearing red for the best visibility.

"If you're going to be biking you should pick outerwear that's not black or dark grey,” said Camden.

Darcy found this layered look for Jim -- who wants to work out in the middle of his workday.

“This is one of my favorite, favorite pants here at Macy’s,” said Camden, “it is called, wait for it - the Athleisure Chino.”

She says this is as close as you're ever going to be able to get to wearing sweatpants at the office.

And she completed the look with a vest and professional- looking sneakers.

"I think actually every man should have something like this,” said Camden. “It's called the Cole Hahn Grand Pro. I call these grownup sneakers."

And even though they are actual sneakers, she doesn’t recommend running a marathon in them.

Finally, Saint's resolution was to have more time in the morning, and Darcy says this last tip is something we can all benefit from.

"What I really want to challenge Saint and viewers to do is try this, intentionally, for 30 days,” said Camden. “Plan your outfit night before, and just see. I promise you, you will have more time in the morning, but another benefit to this is that you'll have better outfits."

So keep all of those good intentions going -- with some fashion foresight:

"The secret to it all is just planning your outfits the night before,” said Camden.
