Music is one of those things we can always turn to, and I'm thankful for that.

Our friends The Posies are playing Wednesday at The Neptune.

Here are the Bellingham rockers live on KEXP in our gathering space. They released their new album Solid States earlier this year, their first in six years.

Also on Wednesday, Swedish and Icelandic folk duo My Bubba are playing at The Tractor.

We discovered My Bubba at Iceland Airwaves festival a few years back. Here they are on KEXP earlier this summer. Their new album in called Big Bad Good.

Seattle rapper Sol plays a Haiti relief benefit show at Neumos on Thursday.

Sol is of Haitian descent, and this show is raising money to help with relief efforts from October's Hurricane Matthew, which devastated his family's village and 10 village schools run by his aunt.

Fridays are a day for fun, right? Well this Friday, my friend Caspar Babypants is going to be live on my show at 9am, and you and your kids are invited.

You might recognize Caspar Babypants as the lead singer of Seattle rock legends The Presidents of the United States of America, aka Chris Ballew.

Caspar Babypants is the best, and loved by kids and parents alike. Come on Friday, we've got a lot more space now!

OK, another show happening on Friday, Brazilian singer Seu Jorge plays Benaroya Hall in a tribute to the great David Bowie.

Jorge famously covered Bowie in Portuguese for the soundtrack to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Bowie passed in January, so Jorge is coming to town to play a tribute show.

2016 had been tough in terms of the great musicians we've lost, including Bowie. But music heals, really. So get out and enjoy some concerts.

I'm John Richards, and this has been the music that matters.
