Live music in Seattle, week of 1/31- KEXP's Music That Matters

Catch the Drive-By Truckers playing their latest album American Band at The Moore this Saturday.

Each week, The Morning Show's DJ John Richards from KEXP 90.3 FM makes recommendations to help us sort through the many incredible options for live music in Seattle's music scene.

This is KEXP's list of the Music that Matters for the week of 1/31.

LIVE MUSIC

  • WED 1/31 The Wombats - Showbox - The English rock band is releasing their new album next week called Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life.
  • THURS 2/1 Kyle Craft - The Tractor - The singer-songwriter from Portland releases his new album Full Circle Nightmare. This show may be sold out, but you can see him at KEXP at noon Wednesday.
  • FRI 2/2 Orgone - Nectar - Orgone has been busy releasing a series of 45 singles. The band's name comes from pseudoscientific concept of a universal life force. So basically, it's like Star Wars plus funk.

  • SAT 2/3 Drive-By Truckers - The Moore - Drive-By Truckers have been releasing more politically charged material with their latest album American Band and a follow up protest song The Perilous Night.
  • SAT 2/3 Jessica Lea Mayfield - The Tractor- Mayfield just released her new album Sorry Is Gone. Her show may be sold out, but you can catch her on Friday at noon at KEXP.
