SEATTLE-- We are coming up on Thanksgiving, and among many things to be thankful for, we've got a city full of great music!
Bluesman Taj Mahal comes to town every year about this time for a string of nights at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley. This year Taj Mahal is bringing a quartet to play, instead of his usual trio. He play shows at Jazz Alley every night through Sunday this week, except for Thanksgiving night itself. Taj Mahal - "Queen Bee"
Stranger Genius Awards winners Industrial Revelation bring their play Neumos on Wednesday (11/23). Industrial Revelation are a self-described garage-jazz quartet, and they are massively talented. You can also catch them live on KEXP Wednesday at noon. Industrial Revelation - "End of Courtesy"
More amazing artists will be performing at KEXP this week, including Thee Oh Sees on Friday (11/25) at 1 PM. They will be playing a sold-out show at Neumos later that night, so check them out at KEXP while it's free. The San Francisco rockers put out a new album last week called Odd Entrances. Thee Oh Sees - "Tidal Wave" (live on KEXP at MFNW)
Also coming up this weekend, John Doe is bringing his seminal LA punk band X back to Seattle for a four-night stand at The Crocodile starting Sunday (11/27). X formed back in 1977, and were among the first wave of US punk bands. They are super influential, and it's great to see all the original members back together for these special shows. X - "Los Angeles"
