For holiday party dressing this year glitz goes comfy. Northwest stylist Darcy Camden gave Evening’s Kim Holcomb the details at Macy's in Southcenter.

“Trend number one, I call it Mixed Metals. Think of a Christmas tree, and how it's silver, and gold, and all the colors of the rainbow and really bright and shiny, that can work in clothing too,” explained Camden.

"Another big trend and I think this is good for a lot of women, is dresses with sleeves are super on-trend, which I think is really awesome. Long sleeves, bell sleeves, cape sleeves, all the drama on the sleeve is a really big trend.”

"Another big trend which is great, is velvet,” said Camden, pointing out a velvet blazer in cranberry, a color she says looks great on every skin tone.

Finally, another big holiday color this year is not really a color at all: “Winter white is huge right now,” said Camden, pointing out that topping summer jeans with a shiny top and a shearling lined silver motorcycle jacket is a great casual look for a party as well as a great way to get more mileage out of separates.

If you don't have time to shop, try Macy's free service called My Stylist. Stylist Marinela Let found Kim Holcomb her new favorite shoes; flats with a glittery bow. Camden paired them with a cape and scarf and leggings for a cozy holiday house party outfit.

And to cap it all, for parties where a little more glitz is in order, Camden said it’s a-okay to wear a sparkly beanie with that sparkly dress to stay warm.
