Tricia Manning-Smith joined KING 5 as a reporter in 2002.  Prior to then, she entered the Seattle market in 1998 by accepting the North Sound Bureau Chief position for KIRO-TV, where she gained recognition for breaking news and enterprising stories<B><B>

Her anchoring and reporting career is firmly grounded in the Northwest.  Prior to working in Seattle, she was an anchor and reporter at KREM in Spokane, WA.  She served as the main anchor at KEPR-TV in the Tri-Cities, where she also was known for breaking crime and court news.  Tricia began her career at KIDK in Idaho Falls, ID as a general assignment reporter, but was soon seated at the anchor desk to launch a new weekend newscast.  Throughout her career, she has also pitched in on nearly every newsroom position possible:  as a weather anchor, interim News Director, Assignment Editor, videographer and editor.<B><B>

Manning-Smith has earned numerous awards for her reporting, notably for investigative and enterprise journalism.  Additionally, Tricia has earned national recognition for her non-profit video productions.  She and her family have extensive international travel experience, devoting their time to short-term missions and humanitarian causes.  She has received commendations from several community groups for her outreach and volunteer service.<B><B>

Tricia graduated from Wheaton College, IL with a B.A. in Communications.   She is married with two daughters.  Tricia enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family, international travel, learning to play the violin, hiking and backpacking, gardening and reading.   She grew up on a farm in the Midwest.<B><B>
