Oodles of 'doodles' seek loving homes

11:26 AM PST on Friday, November 3, 2006

From NWCN.com Staff Reports

PORTLAND - An overwhelmed dog breeder in the St. Helens area has given more than three dozen Goldendoodle and Labradoodle dogs - including 25 puppies - to the Oregon Humane Society.

Faced with the prospect of housing the dogs through the winter in a building with no heat or running water, the breeder turned to the Humane Society to help find new homes for the animals.

All the puppies and adults dogs, including a mother with seven three-day-old pups, will receive medical attention and be offered for adoption as soon as possible.

Most of the 40 dogs are Goldendoodles and Labradoodles, which are a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle or a Golden Retriever and a Poodle.

The dogs include 18 puppies, eight adult dogs, four small mixed-breed dogs and one female mother with seven three-day-old puppies.

If you're interested in adopting the dogs, contact the Oregon Human Society at (503) 285-7722 or visit them at 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR, 97211.
