Senior spotlight: Billy, a terrier mix
10:56 AM PDT on Monday, October 13, 2008
Old Dog Haven
Twelve-year-old Billy still loves a good game of catch.
Twelve-year-old Billy is amazingly energetic and spry for his age, and he has no serious health problems. He was surrendered by his lon time owner who could no longer care for him. He was adopted immediately but returned after the adopter's death, which left Billy very sad. If left outside he will bark, but he is very good when left indoors and is well house trained.
Billy would love to have someone to throw a ball for him. But he can make his own fun, throw toys for himself and simply run with a ball in his mouth. He doesn't share balls well with other dogs, however. He loves people and seeks attention shamelessly.
This goofy, affable clown loves to put his head in your lap and be petted. He will get up on the couch and sleep with his head on your lap if you let him. He has such a desire to please and be with his people; who could resist this guy? Billy is in foster care in Des Moines and really needs a home of his own, with a bit of a yard and a lot of love.
If you are interested in adopting, or becoming a foster family to help a senior dog in its golden years, contact Old Dog Haven at olddoghaven@verizon.net or call 360-653-0311. The adoption donation is $95. For more information, visit the web site at http://www.olddoghaven.org
