Rescued horse adoption deadline extended

MOUNTAIN HOME — The deadline for applying to adopt one of the recently rescued horses in Elmore County has been extended to November 1.

The Idaho Humane Society impounded more than two dozen horses and donkeys late last month. Most of the animals were in poor physical condition. But they've received complete veterinary examinations and care.

The agency says many of the horses are untamed and will need the help of an experienced trainer.

All adopters must be able to provide appropriate shelter for the animals. Adoption fees start at $75.

Donate to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, Idaho 83705.
