Mayor-Elect Durkan announces transition team

Mayor-Elect Jenny Durkan announced her transition chairs Friday, selections that seem to prioritize the top challenges the city currently faces across housing, homelessness and transportation.

Durkan's team will include Ron Sims, former King County executive and HUD deputy secretary under President Obama, Shefali Ranganathan, Transportation Choices Coalition executive director, and Paul Lambros, Plymouth Housing Group executive director.

“These transformative and influential leaders are uniquely situated to guide a smooth transition. Even with a shortened timeline, we are quickly getting to work to build a thoughtful and inclusive committee ready to address homelessness, affordability, and transportation – the most urgent challenges of our city,” Durkan said in a release Friday.

Durkan announced her full transition committee Monday. The team includes more than 60 people, including housing and homelessness advocates, social justice activists, transportation advocates, environmentalists, labor, and business leaders.
