Seattle Aquarium ditches plastic straws
Bye bye, plastic.
The Seattle Aquarium is replacing plastic in an effort to reduce plastic pollutants. This month the aquarium removed plastic straws and is now using straws made with paper.
Nearly 500 million straws are thrown away every day, according to aquarium staff.
Seattle's aquarium joins many others across the country, including Tacoma's Point Defiance, in a campaign to fight plastic pollutants.
