Kim Holcomb

Kim Holcomb began reporting for Evening Magazine in April 2008.

Her career started more than a decade ago, when she made a road trip up the West Coast in search of her first job. She visited every small market along the way and was hired at her last stop in Yakima, WA. After learning how to pronounce "Yakima," she shot, wrote, and edited her own stories. And loved every second.

Kim eventually moved on to reporting and anchoring jobs in Boise, ID, Las Vegas, NV, and Phoenix, AZ. She came to Seattle in 2006 as a general assignment reporter for KING 5 News.

During her time with Evening, she's told the stories of remarkable Northwesterners and gone on adventures around the world. Her assignments have included swimming with a crocodile in Australia, dune bashing in Dubai, flying on a trapeze in SODO, jumping out of an airplane over Snohomish, running the Warrior Dash in North Bend, and getting pelted in Seattle's Tomato Battle (thankfully, not all on the same day.)

Kim is also a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. She's traveled to Los Angeles, New York, London, and Moscow to cover films and interview some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

During her career, Kim's won four regional Emmys and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for writing. She has a degree in political science from the University of California, Riverside, and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.

She couldn't live without music, movies, good conversation, vacations to the coast, occasional karaoke and strong coffee. She's married to KING 5 Anchor Rob Piercy, and they're the proud parents of a son and daughter.
